The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust has renewed its contract with Silverlink Software to use the company’s PCS patient administration system (PAS) software until 2025.

It is the UK’s only specialist neurosciences trust and has been using the PAS since 2003, using core modules such as bed management and referral to treatment and in building neurophysiology modules.

It has also integrated PCS with its in-house electronic patient record system with nursing documentation, outpatient workflow, and e-observations.

Justin Griffiths, head of information management and technology at the Walton Centre, said the system has saved it millions of pounds over the years, adding: “As a trust, we have also learned to be flexible in responding to requests for system changes. It’s meant we have established really good engagement with our clinicians and nurses and we have developed an EPR as a team.

“This adaptability and responsiveness would not have been achievable with ‘off the shelf’ solutions.”
