The Welsh Government has revealed an initiative to develop a Cyber Action Plan for the country.

It has provided details in its latest digital and data blog, saying the plan will be aimed at organisations rather than individuals, with a strong relevance to public services, the third sector and business.

Work with various stakeholders is underway to define themes and joined up actions, and there is an aim to publish the plan during the spring.

“We think it’s important for Wales to have a clear vision and ambition for cyber, along with a set of actions on how we’re going to deliver that ambition,” said Meleri Jones, senior policy officer cyber leadership and co-ordination for the Welsh Government, adding that there is already a strong cyber ecosystem in the country with partnerships between government, industry and academia.

“We want to continue to build on this success, by making the most of our investments and partnerships, so that we bring even greater benefit to Wales,” Jones said.
