Trafford Council is planning a modernisation programme involving an emphasis on digital solutions.

It has put out a call for private sector partner to take part in a 10-week discovery project, kicking off in early September, to design and launch the programme.

The notice says it expects many of the solutions to involve digital approaches, which it wants to base on principles from the from the Government Digital Service (GDS); but it emphasises that the overarching ambition is to meet customer needs.

It wants a partner to work with a small internal team on defining the methodology, approach and tools for the programme, produce a prioritised phasing for transforming council services, and detailing what resources will be needed.

There is also a requirement for knowledge transfer and to identify and measure benefits and outcomes.

The notice says that pre-procurement discussions have already taken place with a couple of digital transformation organisations.
