Self-service options for Epping residents

Epping Forest District Council housing residents can now self-service following the introduction of a new housing management technology platform.

Civica has deployed the Cx Housing Management and Asset Management software-as-a-service platforms at the Essex local authority.

Residents in Epping housing will receive increased choice in how to access the housing services offered by the district council through a new customer portal. The portal provides residents with access to information on current repairs, tenancy details and waiting times, as well as increased help where required. Epping manages 6,500 residential homes.

For Epping, the cloud based software puts all tenant, housing and asset information into a single database with a new workflow. Council staff can also create dashboards and access the two systems from any device.

“Accessing systems in the cloud will make life much easier for our housing officers so they can be out in the community, speaking to customers and dealing with real issues, rather than sitting in the back office,” said Deborah Fenton, director of housing and property at Epping Forest. “Increased automation, smarter data analysis and workflow will help our employees to spend more time adding value for residents who really need support.”

The deal between Epping and Civica is for 10 years. In September, West Kent Housing Association agreed to an £830,000, seven-year partnership with Civica for the housing, asset and workforce management platforms.
