Sefton Council has signed digital transformation specialist Agilisys to take over its ICT service and deliver a new cloud based managed services model.
They have agreed on a contract, initially to run for five years, in which Agilisys will take over ICT services from the incumbent provider Arvato, beginning on 1 October. The relevant Arvato employees will transfer to Agilisys under TUPE rules.
The company said it will work with the council on introducing a cloud platform and providing new digital tools for flexible and collaborative working. They are also aiming to modernise working practices.
Councillor Paulette Lappin, Sefton’s cabinet member for corporate resources, said: “The cloud is absolutely the key to unlocking the staggering volumes of data across the council to better understand and meet the needs of our citizens.
“Building on the great work we’ve done in recent years with Arvato, Agilisys’ cloud enabled digital transformation expertise makes them the right partner to help us harness the benefits of new technologies and take us on the next stage of our transformation journey.”
