Every officer and member of police staff should have access to the internet and a good knowledge of digital intelligence tools in order to do their job safely, says Peter Lloyd, Internet Intelligence and Investigations Capability Manager for the National Police Chiefs' Council

“We’re living in a digital world where digital intelligence is a key part of all investigations,” he says, adding that web intelligence tools will be crucial to the future of UK policing. Lloyd believes that in today’s digital world investigators will struggle to do their job without this information, and that the tools will become "the norm" within five years.
