Northumberland County Council has signed up to the use the FixMyStreet Pro application for the public to report street, highway and environmental issues.

It has integrated the app into its Causeway Alloy asset management system to ensure reports go to the correct team and enable the provision of updates on the work.

All reports are displayed on the application’s map and there is a capability to divert reports to other authorities such as National Highways.

FixMyStreet Pro was developed by SocietyWorks, a subsidiary of civic technology charity mySociety, and is already used by a number of local authorities.

Cllr Glen Sanderson, leader of Northumberland County Council, said: “We’re so pleased to be launching this system which should revolutionise the way we deal with issues on our roads and footpaths. This new online tool is the most direct way to report anything to us that needs fixing, cleaning or clearing across the county.”
