The NHS Wales App has been released in beta version for use by a group of 10 GP practices.

Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) said the app is being trialled by around 1,000 people to test its functionality and features in advance of a public roll out next year.

It indicated that their feedback will be used to identify and fix any bugs in the software.

The app has been developed under the Digital Services for Patients and Public programme, is being tested for smartphones, tablets and laptops, and will use the NHS Login for account authentication and verification in the first instance.

DHCW said it meets strict accessibility guidelines, including those for people with visual impairments.
