North Wales Police upgrades control system
North Wales Police has signed a deal with Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure and Frequentis to upgrade its existing Frequentis Integrated Communication Control System to the Frequentis LifeX software platform.
This will provide the force with a single platform for emergency and non-emergency contact centre and control room communications, taking in telephony, email and webchat. It will enable skills based routing of communications and provide more information on people and properties through integration with other police systems.
Control room manager Paul Shea said it will also support the transition to using the Emergency Services Network.
Sandwell extends Agilisys contract
Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council has extended its partnership with public sector digital technology specialist Agilisys to provide ICT services to its schools.
The new contract will run until 2021, with the company modernising the relevant services in schools within the Rowley and Smethwick Learning Campuses. It is currently providing more than 3,000 pupils with access to digital devices.
GDS releases new Service Manual
The Government Digital Service (GDS) has published the latest version of the Service Manual to help authorities meet the Digital Service Standard and prepare for assessments.
A recent blogpost said it has built a new front and created or updated more than 150 pages. Changes have included a new information layout to support navigation; the removal of duplicate and redirected content; and a new publisher to make it easier to update the content.
GDS said it plans to make further improvements in the content based on analytics, user research and feedback.
