HMRC plans for tobacco IDs

HM Revenue & Customs is making plans to issue unique identifiers for every packet of cigarettes and hand rolling tobacco in the country as part of the creation of a tobacco traceability system.

It has begun to look for a partner to issue the identifiers to tobacco manufacturers and importers, for which it may charge a fee, and to economic operators in the supply chain. The procurement notice says the service should be in place by 20 May 2019, as mandated by the EU’s Tobacco Directive.

In addition, 30% use a private cloud and 25% a hybrid, although 75% of the councils said they were considering an investment in the cloud over the next 12 months.

Lincolnshire NHS Trust partners with Civica

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has signed a five-year contract with Civica to use its Civica Prescribing electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) software.
