Camden and Islington NHS selects Capita for print estate

Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) has selected Capita Managed Print Services to provide multifunction devices as part of a managed print service. It follows a competitive process run under the NHS London Procurement Partnership (LPP) Clinical and Digital Information Systems framework.

The new service, to be run under a three-year contract, will operate across more than 35 trust sites and extend to Kingston in south-west London, where the trust provides services. The roll out is expected to reduce printing costs by up to 40%.

 

Devon & Cornwall Police and Dorset Police expand drone fleet

Devon & Cornwall Police and Dorset Police have expanded their fleet of drones with the purchase of a range of specialist unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The new fleet will be supplied by COPTRZ, a commercial drone provider that specialises in bespoke solutions for the emergency services.

Earlier this year the two forces were the first to announce their intentions to employ full-time UAVs and create a dedicated drone unit. Investment in the new drones follows 18 months of successful trials across the region.

The UAVs will be equipped with optical zoom and thermal imaging capabilities.

 

Jisc signs geospatial platform provider

Jisc has awarded a £823,000 contract to Airbus Defence and Space for the provision of a single front end geospatial platform service.

The organisation, which provides digital services to the higher and further education sectors in the UK, will make the platform available to both. It will include view and download services for a range of raster and vector geospatial data.

 

Atos wins MoJ IT exit deal

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has awarded Atos IT Services the ICT infrastructure services exit contract, valued at £45 million.

The company will support the management of court services in England and Wales prior to their transition to using the MoJ’s common ICT infrastructure. Sectors covered by the contract include hardware consultancy, software programming and consultancy, data services and computer audit and testing.
