South Somerset signs to use Civica Digital360

South Somerset District Council has added a new element to its existing relationship with Civica by signing an £800,000 deal to use the company’s Civica Digital360 suite. It will provide a platform for self-service through the council’s website with responses sent by text, email or through a personalised portal.

The move is the next step in the council’s transformation programme, which got under way early this year. Implementation work has begun and it is hoped that residents will be able to use the new services with the launch of a new council website in late 2018.

Royal Mail report points to GDPR problems

Royal Mail Data Services has published a report revealing that nearly a third of UK organisations responding to a recent survey have no formal data cleansing process in place to deal with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

It said that 32.7% of the organisations do not have plans, and 29.4% are concerned about non-compliance. More than half are unsure whether third party data sources will comply with the regulation’s strict permissioning guidelines.

The GDPR is due to come into force in May of next year.
