Windows 10 is the 'last' version of Windows and is designed to be a service that just gets richer over time. It has regular feature and security updates which, in order to remain compliant and continue to be supported on the Windows 10 platform, customers must apply in a timely manner.
For public sector organisations, where there is a high level of technology and security compliance required, this presents complexity. Every new Windows 10 feature has to be fully assessed and tested to understand whether its inclusion presents any potential threat, and ensure it is in line with current National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) security standards.
Many customers are seeking guidance on how to approach the decisions around Windows updates in order to stay ‘evergreen’, compliant and secure.
Microsoft has therefore invested significantly to create an initial Windows 10 Base Image build and update service – ‘accreditable’ to “Official” classification level - to reduce risk and help public sector organisations to accelerate deployment.
The webinar will cover:
• An overview of the Windows Headstart solution for UK Government
• Deliverables, scope and timelines of the offering
• How to get started
