HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has signed Atos UK on a deal to run for up to four years to provide application testing services.

The company said it will work with a number of partners to support the critical testing services that underpin HMRC’s core capabilities.

This will involve the use of artificial intelligence and automation to deliver a flexible testing service.

The deal comes soon after the company won a five-year contract with the department as its agile transformation delivery partner. Both contracts form part of HMRC’s wider technical, commercial and capability modernisation programme, which is aimed at facilitating its strategic ambitions, including the building of a more resilient and agile tax system.

Nikki Kelly, head of public sector and defence, Northern Europe for Atos, said: “By introducing a new generation of technologies and initiatives, Atos together with partners, will fundamentally enhance the way system integration and end-to-end testing services are delivered for HMRC.

“We look forward to continuing to support HMRC on its digitisation journey to deliver simplified and efficient critical services.”
