HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has awarded Capgemini a new deal to continue its role in managing the Enterprise Tax Management Platform (ETMP).

It effectively maintains the position of the consultancy and service provider in the SAP based platform, which it implemented in the early 2010s.

The contract notice says the new arrangement for run and associated change services, and which also covers enterprise operations, will last until mid-December 2024 with a value of £50.9 million and has been called off from a framework agreement.

The ETMP is the core host for the management and accounting processes of business taxes and duties, as well as HMRC’s corporate HR and finance systems.

HMRC’s digital services update from June of last year said the ETMP had processed over 550,000 VAT returns in its peak month of May, and has now been used to bring in more than £100 billion in VAT since the start of the Making Tax Digital programme.
