Innovate UK and UK Research and Innovation have announced a £1.25 million programme for technologies that boost the efficiency and effectiveness of adult social care by tracking data in real time and making better use of resources as a result.
The projects could cover the point of entry to adult social care, making care systems more dynamic and flexible or making better use of evidence for commissioning. The first phase of the programme, covering technical feasibility, will cover projects for up to three months. Each project’s total cost should not exceed £50,000 including VAT with five projects likely to be funded. The second phase will involve two of the five successful applicants developing and evaluating a prototype, with funding of up to £500,000 for each.
Organisations of any size can apply from 10 June to 17 July, with projects starting on 11 October. The programme is being co-run by Torfaen County Borough Council, which will host a briefing in Cwmbran on 19 June.
