DWP Digital plans Manchester hack

29/10/18

The Department for Work & Pensions’ digital team is planning a hack in search of solutions to help vulnerable people in the Manchester area.

DWP Digital said the event is to take place on 23 and 24 November and is aimed at identifying where hand-offs between organisations cause difficulty or hardship to individuals.

It will also look at how support services offered by organisations in and around Manchester could be brought together most effectively.

Any solutions and code written during the event will be published under an open source licence and could be used in the development of any feasible ideas within DWP.

It has invited developers, data scientists, user researchers, user experience (UX) designers, project managers and enthusiasts from across all sectors to take part, and has set up an Eventbrite page for registration.
