Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) has developed a digital summary to provide information on diabetes patients in one place.

It said that Diabetes View is now available for the all the country’s health boards that use the Diabetes Consultation Note (DCN) in the latest version of the Welsh Clinical Portal (WCP).

It added that clinicians from Cwm Taf Morgannwg, Swansea Bay, Betsi Cadwladr and Hywel Dda University Health Boards will be the first to use the summary – which is expected to help them view information and make decisions more quickly.

Diabetes View pulls data from the DCN along with key test results from the Welsh Results Reporting Service, and contains tiles with different areas of information, such as diagnoses, test results, observations and prior contacts.

DHCW added that it plans to develop the summary further as part of the Welsh Information Solution for Diabetes Management with a view to making it available to all users of the WCP.
