Cavendish Learning Trust has signed a three-year partnership deal with Civica to provide cloud technology for its finance and HR administration.

The group of four schools in Derbyshire is planning to implement the company’s FinancialsLIVE and PeopleLIVE software.

The former will support centralised financial operations with procurement and planning for the four schools, using a single database and a punch-out system teachers to quickly order supplies.

The latter will help managers check off workflow processes and provide the schools with insights into issues such as absenteeism. It will integrate with payroll and budgeting and enable staff to self-serve in processes such as expenses sign-off and changing address or bank details.

The trust currently runs four schools from nursery to secondary education, with approximately 1,700 pupils and 265 staff. It plans to incorporate new schools and use the cloud solutions in a centralised management system.

Currently its services are run from an on-premise server, which has limited out-of-hours access to systems and data.

Its chief finance officer Laura Needham said: “The new systems will integrate to give us a complete picture across our multi-academy trust, increasing efficiencies and saving us much needed time.

"We need our staff to be spending time planning and teaching – not on admin tasks – and the new Civica software will help us achieve our goal of providing the best education possible for our pupils.”
