Cyngor Gwynedd has entered a three-year contract with Civica to uses its Abritas Housing needs solution to manage social housing services.

The county in north-west Wales manages the housing register for over 2,000 residents and works with several housing associations in the area. One of its key partners is North Wales Housing which is currently implementing Civica’s Cx Housing platform.

Cyngor Gwynedd is planning to replace two existing systems for housing and homelessness with a single platform to unify the data for both. Civica said this will improve reporting and enable the housing and homelessness teams to build custom reports quickly without relying on the IT team.

A new online customer portal will also be developed.

The council’s head of housing and property, Carys Fon Williams, said: “We have chosen this new Civica solution as it’s easy for our officers to use and will unify all our data on one simple platform.

“Having a more robust and automated system will ultimately provide a better service for the residents of Gwynedd, as it’s going to free up our time to focus on the vital work we do rather than back end administration.”
