Cornwall Council has chosen PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as its digital future strategic partner, with a three-year, £3.5 million contract set to come into effect in May.

The award notice, published in the final week of December, says the company will support the council in exploiting investments in its digital capability and setting up a transformation programme.

This comes after the authority approved its Digital Future Strategy in May of 2022. This includes seven themes – all familiar priorities in public sector digital – and three horizon periods for digital ambitions.

The council should now be entering the third period with the development of a people’s platform and the wider use of the internet of things.

“The vision for this digital future will not be delivered through technology alone and it is critical that the organisational conditions, culture and capabilities are also in place to maximise the use of any technology the council invests in,” the award notice says.
