The Gazette - official information source transforms for digital age

The UK's oldest journal of public record, The Gazette, has announced the launch of a new website to change its publishing model for the digital age. The Gazette has been a definitive source of official notices for almost 350 years, on topics ranging from military reports to the Queen's Honours to information on bankruptcies and insolvencies. The new website, TheGazette.co.uk, is underpinned by an open API and a story structure which makes it easier to identify individual notices and to reuse and repurpose Gazette data. In addition, the new platform allows users to manually and visually check the provenance trail of any published notice. Recorded as RDF, the trail can be interrogated at any point, showing how the notice has been handled, the publication says.
