Barts Health NHS Trust has announced a three-year framework agreement with Capgemini to support the adoption of cloud services.

It will cover all five hospitals with the trust – located in the City of London and east London – and deal with a number of cloud providers.

Capgemini will support Barts in an assessment and migration of mission critical workloads, along with ongoing management and security solutions.

Matt Howell, head of public sector at Capgemini, commented: “As the largest NHS trust and one of the pioneers in taking a step towards modernising its IT infrastructure through migrating the services to the cloud, the trust will benefit from a more secure, scalable and agile operating environment that is more cost-effective than the current legacy IT infrastructure.

“The move is a testimony to the trust’s innovation to offer a better experience for patients.”

The five hospitals under Barts Health Trust are St Bartholomew’s, The Royal London, Mile End, Whipps Cross and Newham.
