The Scottish Government has launched a new cloud services procurement framework for the country’s public and third sectors.
It has placed 14 companies on the list of suppliers, half of which are SMEs, forecasting that the framework will have an overall value of £30 million.
It takes in public, private, hybrid and community cloud, co-location and transition services, with the suppliers named being Brightsolid, CAE Technology Services, DataVita, Insight Direct, Iomart, Nigsun, NVT Group, Proact, Pulsant, Six Degrees, Storm ID, Sungard, UK Cloud and Velocity.
The Scottish Government said the majority of suppliers host their services in Scotland and that all have third party cyber security accreditation.
It also emphasised that the move supports a number of its digital initiatives, including the national digital strategy and the Data Centre and Data Hosting Strategy for the Scottish Public Sector.
