Police Scotland has signed Civica on a five-year, £750,000 contract to use its cloud enabled MultiVue Master Data Management (MDM) software.

It plans to use the system to integrate data from multiple sources as part of the Data Drives Digital programme laid out in its Joint Strategy for Policing.

It is aiming to provide a single view of trusted, linked data, remove duplication of records and improve its capacity for data analysis.

Denis Hamill, chief data officer for Police Scotland, said: “Master data management is foundational to our Data Drives Digital programme, which aims to enable the delivery of trusted data to meet Police Scotland’s analytical demands.

“We’re looking forward to working in partnership with Civica to provide well governed, trusted and high quality data that will better support dynamic decision making by police officers and staff as they continue to improve the safety and wellbeing of people, places and communities in Scotland.”
