North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust is planning to use a new indoor location technology platform to support its portering teams.

Its provider of estates and facilities services, NTH Solutions, is to use a system developed by Navenio as part of its effort to develop new services for the trust.

Navenio said the technology, which is focused on providing indoor location data, does not require any infrastructure. Instead it uses smartphone sensors and brings together motion tracking, sensor fusion algorithms, self-learn ambient signal maps and crowdsourced auto mapping.

It also provides for the use of scheduling algorithms.

Data can bed into a performance monitoring system to measure key performance indicators.

NTH Solutions is beginning the implementation for North Tees and Hartlepool NHS this month, and is looking to apply the technology to other service lines including cleaning, security and asset location.

Mike Worden, managing director of NTH Solutions, said: “At this time where organisations are under pressure to do more with less, it’s technology like this that will really help us lead the way in making improvements and proving their value.”
