Greater Manchester Police has awarded BT a contract for a new voice and data network.
It has a value of £13.1 million over five years, with an option to extend for a further two years taking it through to July 2026.
The contract covers the supply of a new voice and data network to support policing activities in the Greater Manchester region, and will involve the delivery of a unified communications solution using new technology and with an emphasis on wireless connectivity.
BT said the current network infrastructure requires replacement with a new, fit for purpose network and services to support an agile and mobile workforce with a future proof service.
