The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) has signed LivTech Solutions to support the Local Digital Cyber Support Programme.

It has agreed on a two-year contract, which went into force in April, valued at £9 million for the company to act as delivery partner for the programme.

The contract award notice says it is a flexible arrangement that enables the Local Digital team in DLUHC to commission technical teams on a call-off basis for consultation and support on the offering to local authorities to improve their cyber security.

It extends to support for the use in local government of the National Cyber Security Council’s Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF). DLUHC recently highlighted the value of this in its review of pilots run with 10 local authorities in which they completed a self-assessment against CAF.

It also covers ad hoc work on cyber vulnerabilities and incident support.

Under the programme, which was launched in 2020, Local Digital is working with councils on their cyber vulnerabilities. While it has an in-house capability it has sought a supplier to provide support when necessary.

LivTech is an SME with assessors for the Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus frameworks and various services around security architecture, information assurance, risk and vulnerability assessment.
