Leicester Hospitals trust to use Cito platform

23/11/18

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL) has signed a five-year deal with Civica to use its Cito digital health platform.

It provides a cloud based electronic document and clinical information management system, with implementation aimed at improving clinical safety and patient outcomes and enhancing integrated care for the trust.

UHL has been working with Civica’s WinDIP electronic document management system (EDMS) since 2014. The company said the upgrade will support the trust’s improvement plan and strategy to become paperless by 2020.

John Clarke, chief information officer at UHL said: “The EDMS is one of our core enabling blocks to deliver our vision for a paperless hospital.

“Phase one will be upgrading from WinDIP to Cito, followed by a transition from disparate clinical records held in paper and electronic form across multiple locations into a single document management store. This will provide the longitudinal patient record for our clinicians to access anywhere, anytime to support clinical care.”
