Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust (GHC) has signed a five-year deal with Civica to use its Cito electronic document records management solution.

It plans to deploy the system in the cloud as part of its plan to become a ‘cloud first’ organisation, and integrate it with its electronic patient record systems and the Joining Up Your Information shared care record.

The partnership with Civica will involve the digitisation of 300,000 paper health records.

Ruth Wethey, head of clinical systems at GHC, said: “Partnering with Civica on this new clinical system will result in better patient care across the trust. As we come out of the Covid-19 pandemic, mental health services are under intense pressure and Cito will give us better information at the point of care to offer the best treatment quickly and efficiently.”

GHC was formed in October 2019 to provide integrated mental health, physical health and learning disability services in Gloucestershire.
