The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has begun to use a Microsoft Teams Direct Routing solution under a deal with Gamma Communications.

They agreed on a three-year, £7.9 million contract in January and the solution is now reported to be fully operational.

The company said this provides a full voice telephony capability natively within Teams, which maximises the value of Microsoft 365 licences and removes the need for additional hardware.

A project management from both parties worked on the delivery process, which met the DWP’s timescales.

Sam Winterbottom, public sector director at Gamma, said: “With the deployment of our dedicated Microsoft Teams Direct Routing service, the DWP will be able to lower operational costs and improve communications. This won't only benefit them, but also the people who rely on their services every day.”
