Conwy County Borough Council has taken steps to migrate from legacy business management and financials systems to software-as-a-service (SaaS).

It has signed a deal with enterprise SaaS provider TechnologyOne to use its OneCouncil cloud based system.

The company said this will provide Conwy’s managers and executives with integrated business management and financial tools, including general ledger, accounts payable, purchase to pay, expense management, procurement and financial reporting.

There are also modules for budget forecasting and asset management.

Sandra Forrest, Conwy’s head of accountancy and exchequer, said: “It’ll give us access to better management information and aid decision making. As employees can access it while they’re out and about, we’ll also see a lot of time savings, with teams being able to order new goods and sign-off their team's expenses on the move.”

The deal marks TechnologyOne’s first local authority deal in Wales, although it has previous won a contract with North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
