22/10/20

The Cabinet Office has agreed on a £2.9 million contract with Landmark Information Group to develop a Digital National Asset Register as a public record of Government property assets.

It has signed the specialist in property data in a two-year deal to deliver a cloud based system to meet one of the core features of the Government Estate Strategy published in 2018.

This said the register would bring together public sector property and land data with socio-economic data and is expected to is expected to take in hundreds of public sector entities.

It would be used to support strategic asset management, collaboration between organisations, and to help them assess their costs, utilisation and environmental performance in managing their estates.

Landmark Information provides technology, data and legal products to the property market, and has said it was part of the customer advisory group of national mapping agency Ordnance Survey in the development of its geospatial Data Hub platform.
