Barking and Dagenham Council has chosen to use a new combination of financial and HR/payroll systems for the relevant business processes.

It has signed up to use the managed, cloud based InConcert solution, developed by consultancy Moore Insight and bringing together the Cloud Financials platform from Advanced and iTrent from MHR.

The council said the solution, which it will use under a five-year deal with a possible five-year extension, will help it to deliver the social value commitments when procuring goods and services.

The implementation, which has already begun, is the first for the solution which integrates the functions of Cloud Financials and iTrent. All three of the companies are established suppliers to local government.

Barking and Dagenham’s finance director Philip Gregory said: “Our focus is on having a well run organisation which ultimately enables the council to improve outcomes for our residents.

“Our ‘new kind of council’ model has transformed our frontline services and transforming these core business support systems will enable us to continue to achieve our strategic priorities.

“Moore Insight’s InConcert proposal offered this capability alongside great value by bringing together the Advanced Financials Cloud and MHR solutions, complemented by their own expertise in delivering end user focused improvements and system enhancements aimed at achieving benefits and savings to the council.”
