Manchester plans digital upgrade for business hub

The Manchester Growth Company is aiming to upgrade the digital infrastructure for the city’s Business Growth Hub. It has published a prior information notice for a single framework contract for the delivery of the second stage of its transformation project.

This follows the award of £1 million in funding by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority to improve the digital offer to companies across the city. The contract would last for five months but could be extended, and is valued at £350,000-600,000.

The investment will be split into several projects within a digital transformation programme, and aimed at providing unified data integration across all platforms to increase the efficiency and flexibility in Hub services. All services should be completed by March 2017.

 

 Enfield takes Housing Cx

The London Borough of Enfield has signed up to use Civica’s Housing Cx solution, aiming to extend online services for tenants and enable mobile working by its housing officers.

The move is in line with the council’s corporate strategy to use cloud technology in its digital transformation of services, and will make use of Civica’s secure managed cloud platform.

Housing Cx is fully integrated with Civica’s council tax and benefits administration system, OPENRevenues.

 

Data.gov.uk aims to become more user-friendly

The team behind data.gov.uk – the website for the publication of government data – has launched a discovery project aimed at making it easier to find and use data on the site.

blogpost says the team is working with the registers team in the Government Digital Service and specialists in data science literacy, aiming to establish who publishes data, how and why.

Analysis of the research is currently taking place, and the next phase will focus on how users are finding and using data.

 

Hywel Dda Health deals with Advance

Hywel Dda University Health Board has contracted Advanced Health and Care for a hosted software-as-a-service for a GP out-of-hours (OOH) system and a connection system to NHS Direct Wales. It is aiming to undertake a pilot project for the development of a 111 service.

The two-year deal is valued at just below £400,000. It involves a six-month pilot to assess the feasibility and scope of the forthcoming 111 Wales system, then an implementation period.
