Greenwich Council has renewed its contract with MLL Telecom for managed network services.
The new agreement is valued at over £4 million over four years, with five MLL engineers and one manager embedded in the council’s IT team, and follows an earlier deal between the two dating back to 2017.
It covers Greenwich’s wide and local area networks and Wi-Fi solutions across 50 sites on a mixed network infrastructure including legacy xDSL copper and fibre technologies. The connectivity of approximately half of the estate is now being upgraded under the new contract.
Timo Bayford, the council’s head of technology, commented: , “Our renewal of MLL’s contract ensures the seamless continuation of their work in supporting and improving the quality and security of our WAN, LAN and Wi-Fi services. These are vital to the efficiency of Greenwich’s day to day operations.”
David Porter, MLL’s strategic client director, added: “We look forward to maximising the performance of their network in the years to come and the exciting potential for introducing new technologies and services including managed security.”
