Company emerges as preferred supplier to provide connectivity to the new network for public sector bodies in the region
Yorkshire and Humber Public Services Network (YHPSN) has named IT managed service provider Redcentric as preferred supplier for connections to the Health and Social Care Network (HSCN).
The organisation, which represents 65 public sector organisations in the region, has agreed on a four-year framework with the company for connectivity services on its network. This will make it possible to connect up to 3,000 sites to the HSCN.
Redcentric said its expected to deliver between £1 million and £3 million of revenue from the framework in the current financial year, and it expects this to increase as services are rolled out across the region. It could amount to up to £20 million per year.
The news has come soon after the company announced that it could deliver HSCN access to public sector customers of Crown Hosting Service data centres following an investment in equipment and connectivity.
YHPSN has been one of the leading groups in aggregating procurement and rolling out connectivity to the Public Services Network, and was cited last year by HSCN officials as one of those making early progress in laying plans to use the new network.
HSCN is being set up primarily to replace the N3 broadband network for the NHS, and to incorporate local authorities and other organisations to encourage the integration of health and social care.
