DCLG plans move to Gov.uk for its own web estate
Julian Bowrey, deputy director of corporate communications at the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and responsible for the department's digital estate, is already planning the move to the single government domain, Gov.uk. He is still as enthusiastic about the potential of technology to transform public services as he was over a decade ago, when he led the local e-government programme. Whilst he admits that the original programme made less progress than hoped for, he believes that technology has both evolved and converged to the extent that e-government ambitions can now be realised.
