Green Veneer or Green Revolution? Greening the council ICT estate

November 2008: research project by LGITU magazine, SAS, Sun Microsystems, CIMA and Socitm, involving nearly half (47%) of the UK’s 468 local authorities with participation by 359 local authority officers. Public Sector ICT Sustainability Survey

November 2008: produced by the E-Government Bulletin and the Low Carbon Innovation Network, report looking at the role of ICT in producing carbon emissions. Some 41 percent of the 150 public sector organisations participating do not measure their IT energy usage.  Download report.


Local government goes green with IT

October 2008: a snapshot survey of local government IT departments conducted by Nineveh Consulting found that most of the 74 local councils responding had embraced the Green IT Agenda and were taking positive action to reduced their carbon footprints. Download report.
